Roberson Claims $10,000 in Pro Late Model Paramount Presented by Gasko Gaskets
Forty-five of America's Finest Pro Late Models in the Country signed in to battle it out in the Penultimate Event of the AAS season! Hayden Cardwell entered the night tied with AJ Hicks with the bonus races figured in for the points lead.
BHR Fabrication Qualifying Group A saw Tyler Arrington go fastest with a time of 15.799. John Ruggiero Jr. went second quick in the group with a time of 15.946 while Zach Sise went third quick overall at a 15.978. Double Nickle Race Cars Qualifying Group B saw Joe Leavell take the top spot overall on the night with a time of 15.783. Justin Williams would go second in the group with a time of 15.874 while Logan Roberson wound round out the top three from the group with a time of 15.971.
The ATC Bolts & Fasteners Dash saw Joe Leavell hold off a hard charging Tyler Arrington and Justin Williams. Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet Heat 1 would see Randy Weaver pick up the win, in the legend's first ever trip to NBS over Baillie Lowe and Teddy Musgrave, who told us pre-race he threw the kitchen sink at it, and it appeared to work! Outside Groove Heat 2 would see Joshua Chesney take the win in a rental car over Tyler Hoy and Davis Lipscombe. PPM Racing Products Heat Three would be won by Kendal Tucker, over AJ Hicks and Travis Steele. American Racer Heat 4 was won by Benji Hicks in his first AAS start of the season over Braeson Fulton and Josh Dietz. Dirt Rich TV B-Main one would see David Watts take the win and Ronnie Martin Jr. put on one heck of a race to race into the show over fellow hometrack competitor Ryan Adams. Gasko Gaskets B-Main two would go to Walker Arthur over Hayden Cardwell. Provisionals for the night went to Ryan Smith and Jack Brown.
With the feature field set, it was time to settle it and Joe Leavel quickly assumed the lead over the race while Justin Williams made quick work of Tyler Arrington to go to second. Lapped traffic became a wall for the leaders and the racing got intense with Leavell leading as long as he could. Roberson and Williams made it three wide with him while Arrington, Ruggiero, and Weaver were right there with them under a blanket. Eventually something would have to give with the intense racing and it did. After the caution Roberson resumed the race with the lead with 19 to go and never looked back. Another caution would fly with two to go, but it was to no avail as Roberson would bag another $10K at Natty B. Tyler Arrington would end up with a strong second place run and John Ruggiero Jr. would have another great run with the series crossing the line third. Randy Weaver would take fourth with Benji Hicks crossing the line fifth. Zach Sise in a car he put together in twenty-four hours turned in a sixth place finish with Kendal Tucker taking seventh. Joe Leavell, Joshua Chesney, and Hayden Cardwell would round out the top ten.
We'd like to thank Amanda Bradley and the whole crew at NBS for the hospitality all season long. We'd also like to thank the Natty B fans and racers for their continued support of the AAS! A very special thanks goes out to Gasko Gaskets for being the presenting partner of the event.
