Arrington Back in AAS Victory Lane After Multi-Year Hiatus

Twenty-one of America's Best Pro Late Models signed in for battle Saturday night at Mountain Motor Speedway to chase $4,000 to win! A cool fall evening was the perfect setting for a little Saturday night short track action!

Tyler Arrington would take the fast time in BHR Fabrication Qualifying with a time of 14.245. Local favorite and 2024 AAS Weekly Series Champion, Brandon Fouts went second quick with a time of 14.474 while Kevin Copher turned in a strong third place time at a 14.536. Hayden Cardwell went fourth quick at a 14.634 while Brandon Umberger rounded out the top five in his first ever trip to the track turning a time of a 14.692.

Tyler Arrington would grab the win in the ATC Bolts & Fasteners Dash while Brandon Fouts and Kevin Copher rounded out the top three. Gunner Johnson was a man on a mission picking up the victory in the Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet Heat over Steve Stollings and Raymond Nichols. Outside Groove Heat 2 would be won by Ryan Smith in his first trip to the track over Rocky Moore and AJ Hicks.

The field was set for the forty-lap feature that would be mired with cautions. Tyler Arrington jumped out to the lead and never looked back. On the very few longer green flag runs we got it seemed Fouts might be faster overall, but the green was never out long enough for Fouts to get back. Arrington would take the win for the first time in a few years with the series. Brandon Fouts would take second and the man on a mission "Super Mario," Gunner Johnson would take third. The Hyperco Hard Charger, Joshua Chesney, came from a 14th starting spot to finish fourth while Steve Stollings got in an accident early in the race and powered back to fifth. Oscar McCown made his return to late model racing with a sixth place finish while Ryan Smith took seventh. AJ Hicks, Hayden Cardwell, and Brandon Umberger would round out the top ten.
