Owens 15th in the Spring Thaw

Jimmy Owens back back to "The Gap" on Saturday night for the $100,000-to-win XR Super Series Super Late Model event.

Fifty-nine Super entries took part in the program at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) and via a third-place finish in his heat race Owens locked into the 14th-starting spot for the main event.

He raced to as high as the eighth position before ultimately recording a 14th-place finish in the 100-lap affair.
