Shirley Rolls Seventh With XR Super Series At Gondik Law Speedway Before North/South Struggle

SUPERIOR, Wis. (August 14, 2023) Staring off with a solid top ten finish with the XR Super Series at Gondik Law Speedway last Monday, the weekend ended on a rough spell at the 41st annual Sunoco North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil at Florence Speedway.
Seventh to start the week in Wisconsin against a 34-car field, Shirley carried momentum into the Union, Ky. showdown with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series but struggled with a 20th-place showing during Thursday's Group A preliminary matchup. Starting off Friday with a fourth-row starting spot, the No. 3s ended up 19th.
Into the final night, Shirley made the cut into the 100 lap feature out of 61 cars on hand for the weekend and settled with a 24th place finish after having to retire on Lap 45, after having moved his way to 16th from 21st.
Next on the lineup is Davenport Speedway on August 24-26 for the My Place Hotels Quad Cities 150, with the World of Outlaws?CASE Construction Equipment?Late Model Series
