Michael Courtney Inherits UCRA Win at Tazewell
Tazewell, Tennessee (8/10/19) --- A week and $3,000 later... Michael Courtney of Knoxville TN claimed the 40 lap Main Event Saturday night becoming first back to back repeat UCRA winner in over two years. The Gary Hall promoted event drew fourteen (14) 604/Crate competitors, as a wild finish concluded with Brandon Williams taking the checkered flag. Unfortunately for Williams and runner up Heath Hindman of Signal Mtn, TN both were disqualified after a post race fuel inspection on-site by UCRA officials.
Courtney's #C11 "Hitt Exotic Car Rentals, Harrison, Jim Monroe Garage, Big Mamma's Concrete, Martel Signs, B&M Concrete" sponsored Scott Romines team, was elevated to winner from their third place run and with this victory rallies back to within 7 points of current UCRA points leader Jesse Lowe, whom finished third again Saturday. Series regular Kenny Kizzar of Graysville Mtn, TN finished a UCRA career high second ahead of Lowe with Ryan Carey and the "Alabama Hammer" Rod Carroll rounding out the top five.
The UCRA is off a week before traveling to Fort Payne (AL) Motor Speedway Saturday (8/24) for the annual 40 lap, $2,500 to WIN end of Summer blowout.
