Tyler Erb Tops Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels vs. DIRTcar Summernationals at Tri-State Speedway

HAUBSTADT, INDIANA (July 7, 2024)– The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels would co-sanction with the 2024 DIRTcar Summernationals tour for a visit to “The Class Track” Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Sunday evening and Tyler Erb of New Waverly, TX would lead all thirty laps of the main event and claim the $5,000 payday.

For the 27-year-old Erb, it would be his first series win of the season and made him the sixth different winner in seven tour races this season and was also his eighth DIRTcar Summernationals victory of the season. Erb’s Best Performance Motorsports owned entry is a Rocket Chassis powered by a Clements Race Engine and carries sponsorship from Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors, Bulk Material Lift, First Class Septic, Roberts Bee Company, Anthony’s Pizza, JRR Trucking, Base Racing Fuel, Base Oil, Sani-Weld, Keyser Manufacturing, Integra Shocks, GO Lithium Batteries, Midwest Sheet Metal, Turbo Threads, and KBC Graphix.

Rusty Schlenk and Tyler Erb would battle for the lead on the opening lap, with Erb having the lead at the end of lap one, followed by Schlenk, Tanner English, Dylan Thompson, and Ryan Missler. English would work past Schlenk for second on lap two, while Erb would stretch his lead until the first caution waved on lap seven when fourth place running Thompson would spin his entry in turn one. Erb would maintain the lead on the restart, while Schlenk grabbed second back from English, while thirteenth starting Rodney Melvin would take fourth from Missler. English and Melvin would battle for the third positon, while Erb continued to hold the top spot. The final caution of the race appeared on lap fifteen when Thomas Hunziker and Austin Lay tangled in turn three. This restart would see Erb again get a good restart, while English and Melvin would drive by Schlenk and shuffle him back to fourth, while fifteenth starting Dillon McCowan would work past Missler for fifth. Missler would begin to roll the top side and drive back past McCowan and challenge the battle between English and Melvin for second until he grabbed the wall in turn two on lap twenty-four, as Erb began working slower traffic on the same circuit. English would begin to close on Erb in the final five laps, but would not be able to challenge for the lead and Erb would claim the victory, with English and Melvin finishing second and third. McCowan and Schlenk completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Missler, Chad Finley, Daniel Adam, Dylan Thompson, and Carson Brown.
