Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels Celebrates America’s Birthday at Merritt Speedway July 3, July 4
SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (June 25, 2024) – The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will make its first trip of the season the state of Michigan and will celebrate America’s 248th birthday with a doubleheader of racing action at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, MI on Wednesday July 3 and Thursday July 4. Both feature events will be forty laps in length and each will pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start.
The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will be at Merritt Speedway on Wednesday July 3 and Thursday July 4 and will be featured each evening in a full program of Todd Steel Buildings “Building Speed” Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials presented by Brucebilt Performance Parts, Heat Races, STAKT Products B-Mains, and the 40-lap, $5,000 to win/$500 to start Valvoline A-Main feature events. Joining the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels in action at Merritt Speedway on Wednesday July 3 and Thursday July 4 will be the track’s IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Four Cylinders. There will a huge Fireworks Show as well at the track on Thursday July 4.
Activities at Merritt Speedway on Wednesday July 3 and Thursday July 4 will see the pit area open at 2:30 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:30 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., followed by hot laps and time trials at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices at Merritt Speedway on Wednesday July 3 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults and a pit pass will be $40. On Thursday July 4, ticket prices in the general admission area will be $25 for adults and a pit pass will be $40.
The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Fronts and Left Rear: Hoosier NLMT 3 (LM30; Right Rear: Hoosier NLMT 3 (LM30) and NLMT 4 (LM40); (there is no limit on the number of tires used; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the Unified Dirt Late Model Car Construction rules). The entry fee for the event is $50 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $75 tow money.
