Midwest Dirt Nationals at Paducah International Raceway Canceled for 2023
With the safety of drivers, teams, staff, and race fans in mind, the Midwest Dirt Nationals at the Paducah International Raceway scheduled for August 25 & 26, has been canceled for this weekend. With temperatures forecasted to be over 90 degrees for over 8 hours straight each day, and heat indexes expected to reach 115 degrees, track and series officials have come to the agreement that it is not in the best interest to attempt to put on an event of this stature in these elements. An excessive heat warning currently remains in effect for the area through Friday night. The MARS Championship Tours and the POWRi 410 Bandit Outlaw Sprint Series look forward to visiting the speedway in 2024.
Next up for the MARS Late Model Championship Powered by FK Rod Ends and the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment is the traditional Labor Day weekend swing. The MARS Late Models and MARS Modifieds will kick off the weekend on Friday, September 1, at Farmer City Raceway. On Saturday, September 2, both tours will make the short trip over to the Fairbury Speedway for the FALS Triple Down Shootout paying $5,000-to-win for both the MARS Late Models and the MARS Modifieds. On Sunday, September 3, the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment will close out the holiday weekend with the 33rd annual Plow Boy Nationals at the Spoon River Speedway paying $5,000-to-win.
