Beierle Advances into the Show During Debut at 74th annual Turkey Night

Inside Line Promotions – PERRIS, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2014) – Andee Beierle had a successful debut at Perris Auto Speedway on Thanksgiving night.

Beierle, who hadn’t raced in approximately three months and who hadn’t been in a midget since last summer, made the main event during the 74th annual Turkey Night with the USAC Honda National Midget Series.

“I’m happy because I made the main first of all,” she said. “From practice night to the main event I got more comfortable with not having a wing on the car and being comfortable with the car sideways with the back end hung out. I got more comfortable with picking up the pace and going faster. I learned a lot.”

Beierle, who was driving for Daum Motorsports, kicked off the prestigious event last Thursday by qualifying 30th quickest.

“I ended up qualifying really bad,” she said. “I got too low. I missed my marks on the first lap and it messed me up for the rest of the qualifying session. My second lap was pretty good, but my first lap was rough. You really need both laps to get a good time.”

However, she earned one of the transfers out of the B Main to lock herself into the 98-lap main event.

“I was excited to keep running and get more seat time,” she said. “Making the main event was definitely an accomplishment and I’m glad it happened.”

She started on the inside of the 14th row of the feature and picked up a half-dozen positions to finish 21st.

“Obviously 21st isn’t the optimal position, but for it being my first time there and not being in a midget very often I was happy,” she said. “It was a great experience. I know the next time it’ll go even better because I can pick up where I left off. I’m not starting from scratch.”

Beierle’s next race will be with Spiker Racing Products Dec. 31 to Jan. 3 at the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Okla., for the 30th annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout.

She will race at the same track for Daum Motorsports two weeks later during the 29th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.
