Relaxtion For The Moose Herd

Time for the Moose Herd to have some much earned downtime. Rich had researched prior to the trip and found a beautiful campground just 4 exits north of the Petaluma Speedway. A large drop off area accomadated an area to drop the trailer and Rich, Dave, Jim, Tom & Laurie set up their areas to just kick back for 2 days!
There's only been 1 time that the Moose Rig has been somewhere without a race car and trailer behind it, so for Tom & Laurie this was almost like " a real vacation." The Koa offered a grand store ( heck, they even had many Moose Items, little slippers, socks, shorts... who can go wrong with Moose Stuff! ), s swimming poop, pettig farm, basketball court, arcade, laundry room and a beautiful setting! Lounge chairs assembled, food served, guys cigars lit and it was heaven!!!
Wednesday was another story -- there always has to be a but....when driving from Calistoga to Petaluma there was an extremely scary episode. Going downa slight incline, where there was a signal at the bottom, brakes applied and guess what? the rig woujld slow, but it wouldn't stop!! Tom veered the rig to the right to avoid smashing into the 2 cars that sat at the bottom of that incline at the signal!! YIKES!!!! Take a deep breath!!!! SO, Wednesday morning, the relaxation was thrown out the window and Dave, RIch, Jim & Tom headed to parts store to purchase rear brakes & hubs. It's 100 degrees and here the 4 of them are stuck in the dirt and with Dave's knowledge of turcks, since he works at Tom's Trucks, they were able to get them replaced without incident. As Laurie headed for her quiet time floating on a raft in the pool, the guys went back to the campground and did absolutely nothing!!!
No cooking for Mrs Moose Wednsday night - off to Cattleman's Restaraunt for cocktails, prime rib and all the trimmings - and best part NO Dishes!
Game on, when the guys saw an Indoor GoKart track...their competitive personalities took over and the 4 of them ran side by side, wheel to wheel, much to the management's dismay, but surprisingly they weren't kicked out!! The track record is a 16.3 and all of them were timing in about 16.6,16.7 - not to shabby for abunch of Moose's!!! Bummer that Chris and Jake had had to fly home for the 2 off days for school and work, they would of had a blast!!
Revamped and reved up to get back to racing... it's on to Chico and The Gold Cup!!!
