Inside Line Promotions – CRYSTAL, Mich. (June 14, 2017) – Shawn Dancer made his way through the field twice last weekend to bring home a pair of Hard Charger Awards during a Michigan doubleheader.

Dancer opened the two-race weekend that was co-sanctioned by the Great Lakes Super Sprints and the NRA Sprint Invaders on Friday at Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn.

“We group qualified and something happened to the motor so we had to bring it in,” he said. “We ended up changing the motor in between qualifying and the heat race.”

Dancer started on the pole of his heat race, but a mistake dropped him to a fourth-place result. That lined him up 10th in the A Main.

“We made it up to third and I think if there was a caution we could have been competitive for the win,” he said. “We had a good car and were really happy with our run.”

The third-place result was Dancer’s second top five of the season. It also earned the Dancer Logistics Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway, where Dancer hadn’t competed in approximately three years. He timed in sixth quickest in qualifying before placing fourth in a heat race.

“We qualified late and timed in sixth, starting us third in the heat race,” he said. “We had a problem on the start and finished fourth, making us miss the redraw.”

That lined him up on the outside of the sixth row for the main event.

Although the track took rubber, Dancer maneuvered through the pack to post a sixth-place finish. The strong performance also netted a second straight Dancer Logistics Hard Charger Award.

Dancer will take that momentum into the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek, which begins this weekend with races on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio; Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio; and Sunday at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio.
