Sixth-place finish in Southern Heritage Classic at Needmore Speedway

Pulling double duty over Easter weekend, Clay Harris unloaded both his No. 21J Modified and No. 6 Late Model at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.) for the Southern Heritage Classic on Friday afternoon.

Among 41 Crate Racin' USA Late Models, Clay qualified fourth-quickest in his group and finished third in his heat which earned him a fifth-row starting spot for Saturday's A-Main. With a $10,000 payday on the line, Harris ran as high as fourth before slipping to sixth when the checkered flag flew.

Qualifying seventh-fastest out of 23 UMP Modifieds, Harris was an early retiree in the 40-lap main event on Saturday night.
