Lebanon I-44 Speedway to Host New Pro Late Model Series

A new Pro Late Model series is coming to the High-Banks of Lebanon I-44 Speedway and it is expected to lure in competitors from all across the country. The Ozarks Asphalt Late Model Series will consist of five long-distance races and each of them will pay $2,000 to the winner.
The Ozark Asphalt Late Model Series will consist of five races starting on March 31st with the “March Madness 100” which will be a 100-lap feature. The next event will be another 100-lap feature titled the “Spring Sizzler 100”. Up next will be the “Roper Classic” on June 1st. The Roper Classic will be a 110-lap feature event in honor of the Roper family and all of their contributions to racing here in the Ozarks. One month later, on July 3rd, fireworks will light up the sky and Ozark Late Models will light up the track with the “Salute to 75” which is a 75-lap event in honor of the late Larry Phillips. The final race scheduled for the series will be the “Fall Shootout” and it is scheduled for September 28th. The Fall Shootout will feature a 100-lap main event to decide the Champion of the inaugural Ozarks Asphalt Late Model Series.
One of the drivers that is already committed to run all five of the races is Cole Williams out of Borden Indiana. Cole Williams was the Track Champion at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in 2013 and has won numerous Crown Jewel events on the High-Banks such as the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 event in 2017. Williams plans on racing Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway’s seven race series as well. Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and Lebanon I-44 Speedway will not compete on the same weekend which allows drivers to run both tracks and take home big paydays each weekend. The Ozarks Asphalt Late Model Series has also attracted drivers from the dirt as well. Dirt Super Late Model racer Tony Jackson Jr. will be climbing back behind the wheel of a pavement Late Model for the first time since 2014. Jackson Jr., from Lebanon Missouri, has competed in numerous NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races, so the pavement is nothing new for the dirt track superstar. The series will feature all of the local hot-shoes as well since these races are also included in the weekly Championship at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. Guys like Tim Swearengin, Brian Brown, Steve Holt, Ryu Taggart and Jimmy Vanzandt will be looking for the inaugural Championship. Out-of-town drivers like Sterling Marlin, who races at least once a year at I-44 Speedway, are expected to come out and try their hand at a $2,000 pay-day.
Don’t miss the opening race of the series on March 31st. The March Madness 100 will feature a 100-lap main event with some of the best wheelmen in the country. The Big 10 Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Charger divisions will also be competing which guarantees a night full of spectacular short-track racing.
