Dillon McCowan shows speed during World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte

Dillon McCowan headed South on Wednesday afternoon to join the World of Outlaw Case Construction Late Model Series at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for the 18th-annual World Finals.

With a stacked 66-car field on hand, McCowan finished just a few spots out of a transfer on Thursday before he set quick time on Friday evening. Falling back in his heat race, Dillon missed the $15,000-to-win main event by just one spot in his last chance showdown.

For Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale, Dillon raced his way in through a LCS and recorded a 25th-place finish in the 50 lapper.
