Late-race pass lifts McCowan to first-career MLRA triumph at Callaway Raceway
With the series making its debut at the facility, Dillon McCowan was among 32 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Models at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Mo.) on Friday evening.
Stopping the clock fifth-quickest in his group, McCowan made up one spot in his heat race to finish second and would start sixth in the 30-lap main event. Slowly moving his way to the front, Dillon chased down Earl Pearson Jr. in the closing laps and flew by him on the top side with just four laps to go. McCowan led the final four laps to secure his first-career MLRA victory and collected a $5,000 payday.
Saturday's event at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway was rained out.
