Jackson Jr. competes in LOLMDS features at Brownstown and Atomic
Tony Jackson Jr. traveled to Indiana and Ohio over the weekend as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) roared back to life.
On Saturday, Jackson’s Capital Race Cars No. 25 Super Late Model was one of 48 entries in the pits at Brownstown Speedway for the Indiana Icebreaker. Jackson finished ninth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main on the quarter-mile oval. As a result, he used an emergency provisional to start the 50-lap, $15,000-to-win feature from the 25th position. He came home 22nd.
The next day, the tour moved to Chillicothe, Ohio, and the 3/8-mile Atomic Speedway for the Buckeye Spring 50. The event had been slated for Friday, but inclement weather moved the show to Sunday. Forty-two cars were on hand for the $12,000-to-win affair.
Jackson was fifth in his heat and captured the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main to move into the 50-lap feature. He started 21st and finished 18th.
