Ashton Winger lands another runner-up outing with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series

With a quick turnaround from the tour's last event, Ashton Winger made the hike to Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Harold Hardgrove Memorial.

With 21 Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series Late Models on site, Winger started 12th in the $5,000-to-win opener and made up four spots to finish inside the Top-10 in eighth.

With $15,000 on the line for Saturday's finale, Ashton laid down the quickest lap in qualifying before taking the checkered flag in his heat race. Pulling the No. 3 in the redraw, Winger ran second for much of the 50-lap feature and challenged for the lead before a late caution killed his momentum. Ashton hung on for a runner-up finish behind Camaron Marlar.

Ashton currently sits third in the HTFSDS point standings.
