Runner-up outing in Clash at the Mag opener with Comp Cams Super Dirt Series
On Friday afternoon, Ashton Winger was one of 49 Comp Cams Super Late Models checked into Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for the first night of the Clash at the Mag.
Clocking in second-fastest in his qualifying group, Winger finished runner-up in his heat and started the 30-lap feature from ninth. With a $4,000 paycheck up for grabs, Ashton quickly moved into the runner-up spot and ran second to Spencer Hughes while Payton Freeman completed the podium.
Hoping for one spot better on Saturday, Winger qualified third-quickest in his group before mechanical issues caused a DNF in the heat race. Being buried in a B-Main, Ashton called it a night.
