Ashton Winger caps off Speedweeks at Volusia Speedway Park

Primed for another week in Florida, Ashton Winger unloaded his Mathews Motorsports No. 12 machine at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the first night of the DIRTcar Nationals.

Kicking off the week on Monday, Winger raced his way to the A-Main through a Last Chance Showdown but was an early retiree on lap 11.

For the second $7,000-to-win feature on Tuesday, Ashton went from 11th-to-7th in the 25-lap feature to land inside the Top-10.

Utilizing a different format on Wednesday, Winger rolled off from the fourth-row in the $5,000-to-win feature and brought home a fourth-place outing.

With the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioning the remainder of the weekend, Ashton finished 27th in Thursday's A-Main and dealt with mechanical issues on Friday which forced him to load up early.

Saturday's $16,000-to-win DIRTcar Nationals finale was cancelled ahead of time with rough weather in the forecast.
