Ashton Winger attends Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury
Ashton Winger was one of 74 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries entered at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Friday afternoon for the 31st annual Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. With the massive field split into two groups for time trials, Winger’s 35th fastest qualifying effort positioned him 18th on the starting grid for his $3,000-to-win preliminary feature. With the Top 4 finishers getting locked into the main event on Saturday, Ashton passed eight cars to finish 10th. (Jacy Norgaard photo)
Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday, Winger gained five positions in the 20-lapper to grab the second-and-final transfer spot. Earning the 22nd-starting spot for the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic, Ashton clawed forward four spots in the 100-lap affair to place 18th.
