Ferguson Charges Up to Fifth Place Finish in Stream Finale

With the 26th annual Dirt Late Model Dream getting postponed to 2021, Chris Ferguson was one of 48 Late Models invited to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational. After topping the speed charts in time trials with a lap of 15.281 seconds, Ferguson streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory. On Friday afternoon for another round of preliminary action, Ferguson posted a sixth place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main. Coming in second behind Ricky Weiss, Chris locked into the 22nd-starting position for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Ferguson ran into mechanical issues with his right-front suspension, forcing him to retire early with ten laps remaining.

The following night with preliminary points determining the starting lineups for heats, Chris slipped back from his pole position starting spot to place eighth. With a provisional already secured, Ferguson elected to sit out his B-Main and prepare for the $50,000-to-win finale. Rolling off 18th, Chris Ferguson advanced through the field 13 spots in the 67-lap affair to register a fifth place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Bobby Pierce, Dale McDowell, and Brandon Sheppard.
