TP Motorsports begins 2022 season at Volusia

Seymour, Tennessee’s Terry Poore kicked off his 2022 season on Thursday afternoon by visiting Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) for the three-day Sunshine Nationals. With a stout field of 82 Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series entries on hand, Poore clocked in 21st fastest in his time trial group before gaining five spots in his heat race to register a sixth-place finish. Needing to place second or better to make the opening night feature, Terry jumped up one spot in the 10-lap consolation event to finish fourth.

The following night, Terry’s 11th-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the $2,000-to-win A-Main, Poore logged a 14th-place outing, ending his night early.

Continuous rain overnight and an unfavorable forecast axed Saturday’s finale.
