Two 2nds Times 2 At Jennerstown Speedway
WOW WHAT A NIGHT RACE FANS!! This maybe alittle lengthy but it's worth it. Yesterday at the Big J was the BEST night Edlin Motorsports has had all season with the Super Cup Series! We made a few changes since Kingsport, Tennessee like the power steering box that went, changing back our set up, and trying some different things. That steering box made a huge difference and that's one of the main things we needed all along. The day started off alittle rocky with the filler neck tube for the fuel tank disconnecting and spilling fuel everywhere to the front end of the car being real skatey and not working, and to having to go out first for qualifying after a bunch of changes to help the front end. All those little things made me so nervous, but it paid off so well. I qualified 9th in the first 50 lapper and right from the get go Medusa was like a rocket. I just had to wait and be patient for the tires to come in and just be smart about my moves. I was able to work the high line and it proved worthy and picked off each competitor. After an amazing battle with Harvey Harrison, I realized I was in 2nd place and was starting to run down the leader Kevin Kromer. We ran out of laps, but brought her home in 2nd place and I was so happy I was able to shake everybody up alittle bit. I just didnt wanna over drive the end because I needed those tires yet for the next race. So for the 2nd 50 lapper the top 6 redraw and it landed me starting in the 4th position on the outside right behind Harvey Harrison. Now the track cooled off so everyone was alittle faster as well. We made some adjustments for the car being tight in and again the car was great. After Ron Langdon spun on lap 1, Harvey chose the outside pole and I was on the inside. The inside line didnt work as well for me and I fell back to 4th before I could get back up in my line. From there I ran some awesome door to door with Kevin Kromer and he wasnt kidding about how close he gets lol but there was no contact at all and he was able to get the edge and I just remained patient and followed the front 3 and started to set Harvey #51 up again. I realized he was better on the high side and I was gonna have to take him low and I'm glad I did. Going into 3 Jerrod #71 lost it and I ducked down lower under Harrison and was able to pull off another 2nd place finish!! These are my best career finishes with the Super Cup Series P2 x2!!! I have never had so much fun in my life and I have so much respect for all of these drivers and to race so much experience and advance in position has me tickled for a rookie!! Not one of these drivers took a shot at me passing them because I was a woman, they raced me hard and clean and I really appreciated that so much. Racing how it should be. I wanna thank my sponsors for tagging along with us and helping out on the car and bringing some extra people to show them what it's about. Shanna Anderson with Pink Zebra, Tawaan Baker with Night & Day Sealcoating, Nolan and Rick Schandel with Hillsview Landscaping. Ligioner Trucking, 3 Cs Signs, Cornwell Tools, Motive Parts of Homestead, Myracepass.com, Roof Repair Experts. I wanna thank JJ Pack for his advice and tips, they really helped that last bit to really get Medusa going and to Keving Kromer for driving tips, without you guys, I don't think we'd be this strong and competitive. Thank you for making this fun. Last but not least, THANK YOU RACE FANS!!! As always without you guys, this wouldn't be possible, to see all of you, and to meet new faces makes all of this worth while for me! I hope to continue to be an inspiration for the young eyes and to bring new fans to the track. It was so good to be home and hear all those cheers on the front stretch. We may not have had a win, but it felt like a win to me to hear all of the support!! I can only imagine what am actual win will feel like, hopefully our first win will be at Jennerstown Speedway!! We'll see everyone next week with Nikita!! ~Lauren53
