Chick Finishes Sixth in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship Standings

Inside Line Promotions – DE SOTO, Kan. (Dec. 14, 2020) – Mandy Chick recorded another top-10 finish in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship standings after capturing one top five and four top 10s during limited action in 2020.
“This season went pretty well for us given the circumstances,” she said. “It was just a weird year. It was one of those odd years when everybody was thrown off. A lot of the season was canceled and we dealt with a lot of logistics, including starting college all while battling for a championship. Unfortunately, we didn’t achieve the championship goal we set at the beginning of the season, but overall, we will take our result for 2020.”
Despite cancelations throughout the season, Chick was able to find highlights on the track. She placed sixth in the championship standings and she earned the RE Hard Charger Award.
“I feel like we’ve hit some chemistry in our team,” she said. “My parents have worked hard in the race shop getting the cars prepared while I’m at school and we’ve had the best of the best week in and week out at the track, which has also been good experiences for me. We’ve got a good mesh of people and relationships in our team dynamic now, which I think will go far going into 2021.”
Chick was able to race at tracks she considers to suit her driving style, including Bristol Motor Speedway and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway – both located in Tennessee – as well as Winchester Speedway in Indiana and her home track of Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri.
“Returning to Lebanon I-44 Speedway not once but twice was definitely a highlight and meant a lot to me to go back there,” she said. “It was good to get back to the roots of my racing and see the people who were there in the beginning. Plus, I learn something every time I get on the track there. It’s a track that gives us a firm foundation that we can also apply to the other tracks we race at.”
Chick is hopeful to carry everything learned and the momentum built in 2020 into next year when the goal is simple – earn a trip to Victory Lane.
“I’m excited for next year and ready to hit the ground running,” she said. “We continue to gain experience and knowledge and will try to continue that. We really want to get better on our qualifying runs and be closer to the front so we can be contending for those top spots instead of fighting our way through the field. 2021 is all about getting that first pro late model win.”
