Chick Earns Second Top-10 Finish With JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour

Inside Line Promotions – CLIO, Mich. (Aug. 9, 2017) – Mandy Chick scored her second top-10 result in only her third race competing with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour this season when she ventured to Auto City Raceway last weekend.

Chick, along with another VanDoorn driver, arrived at the track early on Friday for a private test session with Butch VanDoorn.

“Friday was a really off day for me,” she said. “I was just struggling to figure out the track and find a good line. Then, to add to our frustrating day, we ended up blowing a motor and having to go to a back-up car.”

On Saturday, Chick kicked off the day on a higher note. Her practice times showed improvement from the test session and she ended up qualifying 16th quickest for the feature event.

“That definitely wasn’t the qualifying run we were looking for,” she said. “But that’s still something I know I can work on. I’m confident that we will progress with our qualifying as we travel to these different tracks and gain more experience.”

After starting the main event from the outside of the eighth row, Chick maneuvered toward the front of the field and she posted a seventh-place result.

Chick is scheduled for a few weeks off as she will begin her sophomore year of high school. Her next race will be Sept. 3 at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Ind., for the World Stock Car Festival with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour.

Though she won't be racing a Pro Late Model for the next few weeks, Chick’s schedule will remain packed with helping her crew in the shop with preparations for the next race, maintaining her busy workout schedule at the gym, focusing on studies to kick the school year off right and keeping her racing skills sharp by utilizing her iRacing simulator.
