Davis Becomes First Repeat Winner and Kuglin, Lorenz and Hurd Record First Wins at BMP Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (June 3, 2017) – Travis Davis became the first repeat winner at BMP Speedway this season when he claimed the IMCA modifieds main event on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Cody Kuglin, Vance Lorenz and Dennis Hurd reached Victory Lane for the first time to make it 11 different winners in 12 main events at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.
Davis took advantage of starting the IMCA modifieds A Main on the outside of the front row as he recorded the triumph. Jeremy Meirhofer finished in the runner-up position with Jake Dimond rounding out the podium. Kenny Baumann placed fourth and Justin Elmer was fifth.
Elmer and Davis were the heat race winners.
Kuglin advanced from fourth and held off the hard-charging Marvin Gonzales to capture the WISSOTA midwest modifieds victory. Hurd maneuvered from seventh to third place, Keaton Lorenz ended fourth and Steven Stephenson finished fifth.
Dayne Kocher, Marvin Gonzales and Lorenz each earned a heat race triumph.
Vance Lorenz registered a win in the WISSOTA super stocks A Main as Meirhofer finished second for a second time Saturday night. Jason George, Corey Aga and Jace Lorenz rounded out the top five, respectively.
Vance Lorenz was the lone heat race winner.
Hurd became the first-ever Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series, which is a new class in the region, winner at BMP Speedway.
Bill Carey claimed the only heat race.
BMP Speedway will host a big doubleheader next weekend. The action begins on Friday when the 3/8-mile oval will showcase IMCA modifieds, WISSOTA super stocks, WISSOTA street stocks and Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday featuring WISSOTA late models, IMCA modifieds, WISSOTA super stocks, WISSOTA street stocks and Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series.
