Top-10 finish in Hell Tour stop at Tri-City Speedway

Kolby Vandenbergh made his debut with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Friday afternoon at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the fourth round of the Hell Tour. In a field of 38 cars, Kolby timed in 12th fastest in his group before placing third in his heat race. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 12th, Vandenbergh gained two spots in the 40-lap affair to finish 10th. (Josh James Artwork)

The following night at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Vandenbergh logged an eighth-place finish in his heat, transferring him into the C-Main. Streaking to a 10-lap victory, Kolby locked into the 13th-starting position for the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the $10,000-to-win finale, Vandenbergh logged a 13th-place outing.
