Kolby Vandenbergh places ninth in Hell Tour stop at Spoon River

Wednesday night saw Kolby Vandenbergh return with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) for the 14th round of the Hell Tour. In a field of 32 cars, Vandenbergh followed up the third fastest time in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. After a scheduled off day on Thursday, Kolby headed to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday evening for the $10,000 top prize. Taking the Top 4 from heats, Vandenbergh was involved in a tangle while battling for the final transfer spot, transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better, Kolby fell short with a fourth-place outing.
