Johnny Scott ends Florida Speedweeks at Volusia for DIRTcar Nationals
Thursday night found Johnny Scott in action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) sporting a brand new color scheme on his Rancho Milagro Racing No. 1st Late Model for the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 50 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Johnny came two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Locking the Top 2 into the A-Main, Scott logged a fifth-place outing.
The following night for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Scott recorded a seventh place finish in his heat, giving him one final shot at the feature with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place third or better, Johnny recorded a ninth-place finish.
Persistent rain overnight on Friday wiped out Saturday night’s finale.
