Scott Brothers follows LOLMDS to Port Royal
Thursday night saw Scott Brothers Racing return with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) as the three-day Rumble by the River got underway. With 43 Late Models entered, both Johnny and Stormy transferred into the B-Main after falling short of a transfer spot in their heat races. Taking the Top 3, Stormy placed second while Johnny trailed him across the line in third. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Johnny improved six spots to place 16th while Stormy finished 21st.
For another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Stormy notched a second-place finish in his heat, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the show. Johnny placed 11th in his heat before finishing ninth in his B-Main. Stormy was involved in a tangle on lap 25 of the feature that brought an early end to his night.
Saturday’s $30,000-to-win Rumble by the River finale was cancelled by persistent rain.
