Theiss Visits Cedar Lake Speedway for USA Nationals
Thursday night saw Austin Theiss return to action at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing 45 cars for the 31st annual USA Nationals, Theiss laid down the 23rd fastest time in his qualifying group before placing 11th in his heat race. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature, Austin logged a 13th place outing.
The following night for two rounds of heat races, Theiss dropped two spots in his first heat logging an 8th place finish. Starting his second heat in 4th, Austin posted a 6th place finish positioning him 35th in overall passing points.
Slated to start 10th in his B-Main for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday night, Theiss failed to make it out for the 15-lap consolation event. Earning a spot into the FANSFund Dash, Austin slipped back to a 9th place outing in the 12-lapper.
