Driver Information
Got my start in racing by sneaking into my older brothers car racing under his name when I was 14 almost won that race( at the time you had to have a valid drivers permit to race)
Gene Stinson came by talked to my dad about getting me a car, between gene Stinson and Cleveland speedway owner Joe Lee Johnson gave me my first race car with the stipulations I race at least once at Cleveland ( unfortunately Mr. Johnson passed away before I got the car finished)
I only raced at north ga speedway during my first couple years of racing I started out in the sportsman division with a leaf spring jig-a-lo chassis that was give to me
A couple yrs later me and my brothers built me an Hobby car which I ran at Boyd’s, north ga, and Cleveland had that car for several yrs until a bad wreck at Boyd’s retired that car
We built a 4 link get car after that which I ran in sportsman for a couple yrs before I met James Walkey
I owe a great thanks to James Walkey he allowed me to race the dirty 30 car in the 602 division where I finally got to travel to a few tracks I would’ve never had the money to go to on my own, while driving for him I got to race a bunch at Boyd’s speedway, north ga and i75 raceway, he took me to other places including Duck river, Sugarcreek raceway, senoia, west ga, fort Payne although I have yet to win a feature event I did have a lot of success driving for Mr. Walkey finishing several 2nd and 3rd places finishes and very rarely finished outside the top 10 in all the races I ran with his car after some unforeseen circumstances involving his family he needed to sell that car. I’ll forever be thankful for all the fun he allowed me to have driving for him
Now I’m racing a 1995 model mastsbuilt chassis with the late model divisions at North Ga. Speedway and occasionally up to Boyd’s, I know I’ll never win with this car and with my funding but I still welcome all fans to come watch me and the other competitors put on a great show each race
