Taylor scores Top-5 finish in Race 4 Hope 71 prelim

On Wednesday afternoon, Jeff Taylor was one of 100 IMCA Modifieds on hand at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) to pilot his Industrial Electric No. 5 Late Model for the fifth annual Race 4 Hope 71. After missing his heat race on Wednesday, Taylor recorded fourth-place finish in his heat on Thursday, relegating him into the B-Main. Rolling off 17th, Jeff gained 12 spots to record a fifth-place finish.

On Friday evening, Jeff’s fifth-to-second run in his heat race pinned him 21st on the starting grid for his preliminary feature. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Taylor passed 16 cars in the 25-lap affair to register an impressive fifth-place finish.

Locked into the $50,000-to-win Race 4 Hope 71 on Saturday evening, Jeff was an early retiree from the 71-lap affair with five circuits remaining while being credited with a 21st-place finish.
