Roland struggles with motor issues at Senoia and East Alabama
Following the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series, Will Roland unloaded his No. 22 machine at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) for the Roscoe Smith Classic.
With a strong 47-car field on site, Roland qualified ninth-quickest and fell back in his heat race to finish fifth. Receiving a provisional starting spot for the $7,544-to-win main event, Roland made up seven positions to finish 16th.
Traveling to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Friday afternoon, Roland qualified 13th-quickest in his group before a heavy thunderstorm rolled into the area. Officials were forced to postpone the event to August 18th.
With the team still dealing with lingering motor issues, Roland made the tough decision to head home early.
