Tyler Erb records three Top-10 finishes over Fourth of July weekend
Best Performance Motorsports pilot Tyler Erb followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Friday afternoon to return behind the wheel of the Industrial Resourcing Group No. 1 Late Model for the Independence 50. With a third-place finish in his heat race lining him up ninth on the starting grid for the opening night feature, Erb advanced forward four spots in the 50-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Bronson, Tim McCreadie, and Spencer Hughes to the checkers. (Heath Lawson photo)
The following night at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) for the Prime Solutions 50, Tyler locked his spot into the $15,000-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Erb passed six cars to place sixth.
On Sunday evening at Beckley Motorsports Park (Beckley, W.Va.) for the $20,000-to-win unsanctioned USA 100, Erb led laps early in the 100-lapper but suffered a flat right-rear tire that dropped him back to third when the checkered flag flew. He followed Zack Dohm and Jacob Hawkins across the line.
Tyler climbed to sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
