Tyler Erb races to podium finish in Atomic 100

After persistent rain cut short Friday’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) program and rained out Saturday’s finale, Tyler Erb packed up from Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) on Saturday morning and trekked to Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) for the finale of the Atomic 100 weekend. In a field of 24 Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series entries, Erb secured his spot into the $12,000-to-win A-Main with an eight-lap heat race victory. Starting the feature in third, Tyler advanced into second early and was in pursuit of race-leader Devin Moran when he suffered a flat right-rear tire on lap 37. He charged from the tail of the field to finish third, trailing Rod Conley and Gilpin across the line. Jared Hawkins and Dustin Nobbe rounded out the Top-5 in the 60-lap affair. (Ryan Roberts photo)
