Tyler Erb
Top-5 finish in River Days Rumble
Tyler Erb opened his Labor Day weekend on Saturday afternoon at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Pepsi River Days Rumble 50. With 29 Late Models entered, Erb clocked in fifth fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Starting the $15,000-to-win A-Main in sixth, Tyler was challenging for second late in the race but dropped back to fourth when the checkered flag flew. He followed Tim McCreadie, Devin Moran, and Ricky Thornton Jr. across the line with Jimmy Ownes coming in fifth. (Heath Lawson photo)
After Sunday’s Hillbilly 100 at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W.V.) rained out, Tyler and the Best Performance Motorsports crew headed to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the Baltes Classic. Drawing 33 Sunoco American Late Model Series (ALMS) entries for the test session leading up the double World 100’s, Erb posted a second-place finish in his heat, which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the show. With $5,000 on the line, Tyler was an early retiree from the 30-lapper with 12 circuits remaining.
Tyler remains in sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
