Trio of Top-10 finishes with USMTS

Rodney Sanders kicked off a three-race stretch with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Thursday afternoon with a visit to 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) for the $5,000-to-win opener.

With a heat race win placing him on the second row for the feature, Sanders faded one spot 35-lap affair to finish fourth. He followed Terry Phillips, Kale Westover, and Dan Ebert to the checkers with Cayden Carter coming in fifth.

On Friday at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.), Rodney had to race his way into the USMTS Summer Fling A-Main via a B-Main after finishing fourth in his heat. Passing 10 cars in the 42-lapper, Sanders marched to a fourth-place finish.

For the weekend finale on Saturday, Sanders stopped at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the $10,000-to-win Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. Following a second-place finish in his heat, Rodney gained two spots in the feature to register a seventh-place finish.

Rodney is currently sixth in the latest USMTS point standings.
