5th Place Finish in Round Three of WWS

For the third round of the Wild West Shootout on Wednesday evening at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona), Rodney Sanders gained two spots in his heat race to pick up the 8-lap heat race victory. Starting the $1,000-to-win A-Main in third, Sanders dropped two spots to place 5th Tanner Mullens, Jake O’Neil, Calvin Iverson, and Lucas Schott.

Returning to action on Friday evening, Sanders passed eight cars in his heat race to capture the 8-lap victory. Rolling off on the pole for the feature, Rodney fell one spot to register a runner-up finish behind Dustin Strand with Tyler Peterson, Mitch Keeter, and Calvin Iverson rounding out the Toip-5.

On Saturday night, Rodney secured his spot into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Lucas Schott. Jumping up three spots in the 25-lap feature, Sanders scored a 4th place finish behind Matt Leer, Tyler Peterson, and Lucas Schott with Dustin Strand coming in 5th.

Wrapping up the 14th annual Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Sanders improved seven positions in his heat to register a 3rd place finish. After taking over the lead near the halfway point of the feature, Rodney dropped back to a 4th place finish behind Tyler Peterson, Joe Duvall, and Dustin Strand with Lucas Schott coming in 5th.
