Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 4, 2019) – Alex Hill scored her career-best finish at one track and displayed speed in her first visit to another during three nights of racing with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour last weekend.

Hill’s racing weekend began Friday with her debut at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, where she won her heat race and was running near the top five in the feature before a mechanical problem ended her night early.

“We had a fast car all night,” she said. “I was running in about sixth or seventh in the feature when the fuel line disconnected and ended our night. That was disappointing.”

Hill and her team headed south the following day for Night 1 of a doubleheader at Lake Ozark Speedway, where she battled a challenging track and finished ninth in the B Main after starting 13th.

“The track was heavy and it was hammer-down for both of our races,” she said. “It was narrow and really difficult to pass. I was able to pass a few cars in the B Main, but not enough to get to a transfer spot.”

Lake Ozark Speedway offered a completely different racing surface on Sunday, when a third-place finish in her heat race placed Hill on the pole for her qualifier.

“(Scott) Bogucki started beside me and got the lead at the start, but I was able to hold onto second,” she said.

Hill ranked ninth in overall points so she started on the inside of the fifth row in the A Main. An incident at the start forced her to lose some positions, but she battled the challenging surface and brought home a career-best 15th-place result at the track.

“A couple of cars in front of me got together at the start and I backed off to avoid them,” she said. “But they kept going and there wasn’t a yellow so I lost some spots. The track was really slick and that’s usually difficult for me. But I finished 15th and felt pretty good with that.”

Hill is looking forward to returning home this Friday for a final tune-up at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, prior to the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals the following week.

“I’m always excited about racing at my home track,” she said. “I’m glad we get a chance to race there one more time before our biggest race of the season.”
