Fourth-place finish in CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway

Getting an early start to his race week, Brandon Overton visited Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) on Monday afternoon for the XR Super Series-sanctioned Dubuque Key City Clash.

Sneaking into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat race, Overton was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 16.

With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Tuesday at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa), Brandon followed up a third-place showing in his heat with a 12th-to-8th run in the A-Main.

After Friday’s NAPA Know How 50 at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) fell to wet weather, Overton raced into Saturday’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) with an eight-lap heat race victory. With $15,000 on the line, Brandon surrendered the lead on the sixth circuit and went onto place fourth in the 50-lap finale. He chased Jonathan Davenport, Devin Moran, and Ricky Thornton Jr. to the checkers with Chris Simpson coming in fifth.

With the LOLMDS awarding bonus money for the latest standings after the CMH Diamond Nationals, Overton pocketed $1,000 for third.
