Brandon Overton eighth in Freedom 60 at Muskingum County Speedway
Continuing his pursuit for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) championship, Brandon Overton entered his Wells Motorsports No. 76 Late Model into battle at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, OH) on Friday for the 17th running of the Freedom 60.
Splitting the 32-car field into three groups for prelims, Overton qualified mid-pack before charging forward four spots in his 20-lap preliminary to finish second. He trailed Tim McCreadie to the checkers with Jonathan Davenport rounding out the podium.
With the STAKT Products Tournament Challenge setting the grid for the front six rows of the $30,000-to-win Freedom 60, Brandon lost in the final round to Tim McCreadie to lock into the second-starting position for the main event. After pacing the opening 25 circuits of the feature, Overton faded over the final 35 laps to finish eighth.
Brandon remains third in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
