Top-10 finish in Historic 100 opener at West Virginia Motor Speedway
Following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to The Mountain State, Brandon Overton invaded West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, W.Va.) on Friday afternoon to pilot his CrossFit Overton No. 76 Late Model for the two-day event.
With a fourth-place finish in his heat race placing him on the fifth row for the Historic 100 preliminary feature, Overton gained three spots in the 30-lapper to finish seventh.
Brandon raced his way into Saturday’s $50,000-to-win Historic 100 finale via a heat victory but Mother Nature had other plans. Slated to start in second, wet weather before the start of the shortened 30-lap finale forced officials to postpone the race to another date to be determined.
Brandon sits third in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
