Brent Marks Finds Victory Lane at Port Royal Speedway
First Win of 2016 Completed after Late Race Pass
By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (March 21, 2016) - For the first time in 2016, and for the sixth time in his career, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks made his way onto the Port Royal Speedway victory lane stage. The pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, No. 19M earned his first win of the year in dramatic fashion; taking command of the 25-lap main event with just three circuits remaining, eventually surging forward to a near-two second lead at the final checkers. Marks kicked-off the March 19 program with a victory during his respective heat race.

“Feels great to get the first win of the year” Brent Marks said, “I can’t thank my team, sponsors and supporters enough. We are on a mission this year to be in contention for a win every time we hit the speedway. I think tonight proves that we are on the right track to make that happen. Last year, it took us most of the season to get that first win. To get one this early in the year builds a lot of momentum and confidence.”

The victory at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., was the second of two top-ten finishes for Brent Marks during the recent weekend. The Myerstown, Pa., native entered competition at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday night, March 18; the season-opening program at the world famous half-mile. Marks worked forward from 13th on the main event grid to finish well inside the top-ten; eighth officially at the end of 25 circuits.

“We had a pretty good showing at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night” Brent Marks said, “Feels good to work forward to a top-ten finish. This gives us a great starting point for the rest of the year at The Grove. I think if we would have started a little closer to the front, we would have been a top-five car. Finishing outside of a redraw spot in the heat kept that from happening. Regardless, we are happy with our weekend and we are excited to do it again next Friday and Saturday.”

Brent Marks will return to action this Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, with another full weekend of 410 sprint car competition. The weekend doubleheader will ignite with a return to the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, March 25, followed by a visit to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, March 26. A final decision regarding Saturday plans will be made later in the week. Lincoln Speedway’s Sprint Championship on March 26 also stands as a possibility.
