Inside Line Promotions – SELINSGROVE, Pa. (May 4, 2021) – Scott Bogucki is hopeful all of the recent misfortune is out of the way as he heads to Michigan this weekend.

The SawBlade.com sponsored sprint car driver ran into bad luck last Saturday for the second straight week. Bogucki was running second when a flat tire late in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour race relegated him to a 16th-place finish during the final night of the Rite Way Sealing & Paving Inc. Battle of the Groves hosted by Selinsgrove Speedway.

“Heartbreak,” he said. “I had second in the bag. I have no words for the disappointment. I was running third to Steve Buckwalter and Tim Shaffer, who are two badasses out here. Tim broke so I moved into second. I got into the fence once and Steve really got away from me. In the company we were in and where we are at, a place I’d only been to once before, I was really pleased with our speed.”

Bogucki, who was the high-point driver following a run from seventh to second place in a heat race, battled for spot on the podium throughout the race before the late incident.

It was the lone race of the weekend as Friday’s show at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., was canceled because of extreme wind.

Next up is a trip to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa this Friday and Saturday. It marks Bogucki’s first trip back to the track since he finished eighth and 12th, respectively, during his debut in 2019.

“It’s big and it’s fast,” he said. “We have the package for big tracks. I thought I was hungry before, but after last Saturday that’s two that have got away. We’re aiming for a strong weekend.”
