Inside Line Promotions – HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2018) – Scott Bogucki has likely locked up the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com Rookie of the Year for 2018 as the series has only two races remaining.

Bogucki, who hails from McLaren Vale, South Australia, hasn’t raced for nearly a month and was looking forward to the ASCS National Tour getting back to action this weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. However, heavy rains throughout the week prompted officials to cancel the two shows scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

“I was so looking forward to getting back to Devil’s Bowl,” he said. “I finally figured out how to run that unique track and we got our only tour win there in June. I really needed that race to overtake Skylar Gee for seventh in the points.”

However, regardless of how the final races of the season go Bogucki has earned enough points this season to not be passed for the Rookie of the Year Award as long as his SawBlade.com sponsored team simply shows up to one more race.

With the rainout, the next event for the ASCS National Tour will be the John Christner Trucking Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. on Oct. 26-27. It will be the final two nights of racing in 2018 for the series.

“When we were at Creek County for Speedweek I ran in the top three most of the feature and just got a little too free toward the end and Blake Hahn slid me the last corner and I ended up fourth,” Bogucki said. “After the improvements we’ve made to the car last month we raced I’m excited to get back there and see what we can do.”

When the ASCS season concludes, Bogucki and the SawBlade.com team will head to the shop outside of Houston, Texas, to immediately begin getting ready for the 2019 season.

“We have a lot of work to do because I head back to Australia at the end of November and we are planning to get back to racing back in the states in March,” he said. “I can’t thank Dillon (Paddock) and Danny (Heskins) and everyone who has pitched in this season enough.”
