Ian Madsen Eyes Return To Midwest Following Tough National Open
PETERSEN MEDIA- Though the string of Top-5 finishes for KCP Racing and Ian Madsen came to a halt over the weekend in PA, Madsen and company are looking forward to getting back on track this weekend when the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series returns to the Midwest.
“The National Open was definitely a humbling weekend for our race team,” Madsen said. “When you mix the Outlaws against the PA Posse the stakes get raised and if you aren’t on your ‘A’ game it can get magnified. It wasn’t our best weekend but we are all looking forward to getting back on track this weekend.”
Taking part in Williams Grove Speedway’s marquee event over the weekend, Madsen would end up coming out of the ‘B’ Main to make the show where he would line up 24th on the starting grid.
Amidst the large 30-car field, Madsen would battle his way forward and pocket a 15th place finish.
Saturday night, Madsen and company would utilized a provisional to make the 40-lap National Open feature event as they took the green flag from the 27th starting position before finishing 23rd.
With the Williams Grove National Open now in the rear view mirror, Madsen and company are looking forward to this weekend’s events at Terre Haute Action track in Terre Haute, IN and at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.
“Our guys are already focused on getting us right for the big Terre Haute Action Track, and the bullring at Tri-State Speedway,” Madsen said. “We have been a lot better on short tracks this year than in years past so we will look to continue that on Sunday night for sure.”
Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
