Pair of Top-10 Finishes Lead Ian Madsen and KCP Racing Into Busy Week

PETERSEN MEDIA- Picking up a pair of Top-10 finishes over the weekend, Ian Madsen and KCP Racing are eager to kick off a monster week of racing beginning with tomorrow’s Brad Doty Classic.

“It wasn’t the best weekend of racing, but it wasn’t bad and we are excited to get after this week,” Ian Madsen said. “The Doty and 4 nights of the Kings Royal at Eldora will really test us all.”

Friday night in Hartford, MI, Madsen would open the night up by timing the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 machine in seventh quickest in qualifying time trials.

Picking up the important heat race win, Madsen would move into the Dash where a sixth place finish lined him up in the third row for the 30-lap feature event. On the slick racing surface, the St. Marys, NSW driver would keep the KCP Racing machine inside the Top-10 as passing would get difficult over the course of the race.

When the dust settled on Friday’s show, Madsen brought home a seventh place finish.

Saturday night the scene shifted to Wilmot, WI and Wilmot Raceway for a short track showdown. Timing in fourth fastest in qualifications, Madsen would finish second in heat race action on this night which again was good enough to transfer him into the all important Dash.

Just as he did on Friday, Madsen would again finish sixth in the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash, and rolled off from the sixth starting position for the second consecutive night.

On the short confines of the Wilmot Raceway, Madsen would again keep his machine inside the Top-10. Battling the likes of Brent Marks, Logan Schuchart, and Sheldon Haudenschild, Madsen closed the weekend out with a ninth place finish.

“Short tracks are kind of a thorn in our side,” Madsen said. “Looking forward to a big week ahead, and doing our partners proud.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
