Ian Madsen Looks Forward to Busy Memorial Day Weekend After Up and Down Trip to Northeast
PETERSEN MEDIA- After a busy week in the northeast, Ian Madsen and the KCP Racing team are already looking forward to a busy Memorial Day Weekend after up and down results.
“It wasn’t our ideal stretch of races, but it wasn’t terrible,” Ian Madsen said. “We are looking forward to two nights at Charlotte Dirt Track as we have ran really well there in years past, and a return trip to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana on Monday.”
Competing and Lincoln Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Bedford Speedway over the last week, Madsen picked up one Top-10 finish but was able to show pretty good speed at times during all four nights of action.
“We had really good speed all four nights, but when you mix in the PA contingent against the Outlaw guys, things get that much more challenging and that is a testament to both groups,” Madsen noted.
The best finish of the week came last Wednesday night at Lincoln Speedway where the St. Marys, NSW pilot picked up a seventh place finish during the Gettysburg Clash.
Moving on to Williams Grove Speedway for the Morgan Cup, Madsen would advance from 14th to finish 11th on Friday before a 23rd to 17th charge on Saturday night after coming from the Last Chance Showdown.
Making his first appearance at Bedford Speedway on Tuesday night, Madsen would time the Logan Contractors Supply/Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 in third quickest before capping a busy stretch off with a 12th place finish in the semi.
“We obviously want to be up competing for wins, so we still have some work to do later in the night,’ Madsen said. “Again, really looking forward to getting back to a place we have success in the past, and hoping we can get this car back up front for the team and our partners.”
Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
