Eldora Top-10 for Ian Madsen
PETERSEN MEDIA- Ian Madsen and the KCP Racing team were able to sneak in one race over the weekend in between rain drops, and in that one race at Eldora Speedway, Madsen pocketed his eighth Top-10 of the season as he took the checkered flag 10th on Friday night.
“This weather has been something else this year, and it has certainly made things tough to get into a rhythm but everyone is dealing with the same circumstances,” Ian Madsen said. “I thought Friday night went well overall aside from my awful drawing skills in the Dash.”
Friday night at the famed Eldora Speedway, Madsen opened the night up by timing the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 machine in fourth quickest in his qualifying flight.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Madsen would battle with Parker Price-Miller before he settled for second, and locked himself into the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash.
Pulling a six in Dash No. 2, Madsen would finish fifth, and find himself back in 10th to take the green flag for what would be the lone #LetsRace2 feature event of the weekend.
On the famed ½ mile oval, Madsen would have good night as he kept his KCP racing machine inside the Top-10 during much of the feature event as he battled the likes of young Gio Scelzi, and Brad Sweet.
On a frigid May night in Ohio, Madsen would essentially cap his rain shortened weekend with a 10th place finish.
“Thanks to my guys work working hard and giving me a good car on what was a pretty brutal night,” Madsen noted. “Hopefully warm, dry weather is on the horizon and we can get back to racing every weekend.”
Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
